Dr. rer. nat.
Lutz Wielmann joined the group in 1996 and began to establish the signature tagged mutagenesis (STM) technique in Pseudomonas aeruginosa TB. His current work is the identification of genes that are essential for the survival of TB-mutants in specific habitats (e.g. intracellular growth) or correlated with striking phenotypical features. He is specially interested in host pathogen interactions of P. aeruginosa. Additionally he gives lectures within the radiological chemistry course.
