Katarzyna studied biotechnology at the University of Warsaw in Poland in the Department of Bacterial Genetics. During her Bachelor and Master she worked with the Dsb protein family of Campylobacter jejuni 81-176. Katarzynas research was focused on the functional characterization of Campylobacter DsbA and DsbB proteins. As a student she spent 7 months in Goettingen, where she worked in the Max Planck Institute of Experimental Medicine in the Department of Molecular Neurobiology. At the moment she is a PhD student. The topic of her thesis is: "Co-evolution of the intestinal and airways microbial metagenomes in people with cystic fibrosis".
